🤔 Why are you creating??

You need to have a reason why!

Hello fellow creators, JP here again for Week 4 of the Creator Chronicle!

Crazy to think it’s already been a full month of sending these newsletters out! A big THANK YOU to those who have followed along so far :)

The Office Thank You GIF

And to those of you haven’t opened any newsletters yet, you know who you are ;)

This week I was chatting with the awesome UGC creators Kait & Martin Gelbspan (more info on them down below) and we started discussing the subject of success and perseverance. Safe to say, it really got me thinking.

Success doesn’t come overnight. It often takes months and years of consistent effort, day in and day out.

And that can lead to self-doubt, burnout, and a lack of clarity if not managed properly.

That is why it’s so important to always have a clear line of sight into your “reasons why…”

No, not your 13 reasons why.

I’m talking about what is driving you, what is pushing you, and what is making you edit your latest video on a laptop at 10 pm on a Friday night when your friends are all getting smashed down at the local bar.

If you don’t have a reason why, let me provide some inspiration to keep you going when you just can’t push through anymore…

“Your Reasons Why”

#1) MONEY

Let’s not sugar coat it. There is HUGE money to be made in content creation if you go about it the right way. Sure, this shouldn’t be your only driving factor, but when you’re losing motivation, just think about the potential monetization possibilities.

Brand deals… product lines… digital products… affiliate sponsorships… ads…personal blogs…consulting…memberships…freelancing.

There are so many potential revenue streams to be had once you get a decent following under your belt. Yes, it will take time… but for the effort required vs. reward, there really is no better place to start than building an following online.

#2) CREATIVE FREEDOM

How many times have you been at your job and thought - “why can’t we just do it my way?”

When you are your own boss, your own creator - you can do exactly that.

No employer breathing down your neck, no rules to follow, no limitations on personal expression.

Just you and the ability to do whatever you want to do. And that is incredibly freeing.

#3) TIME FREEDOM

If you want to work 18 hours a day and shoot 10 TikTok videos, you can do that.

If you also want to work 4 hours a day, realize the sun is out and it’s turning into a gorgeous afternoon, and head down to the beach… you can also do just that.

How often can you tell your boss to kick rocks because you’re heading down to the beach? Good luck with that one.

Don’t forget - all you need is a computer and a phone. You can create content from anywhere, wherever, and whenever.

Think about that the next time you find yourself hitting a wall.

#4) PASSION PURSUIT

We often find ourselves in a job, or line of work, or a career without knowing how it happened. All of a sudden we wake up and we are 40 years old and time has passed in the blink of an eye, and we never get to do what we really wanted in life.

Guess what? It doesn’t have to be this way.

When you create content, you can talk about literally whatever you want. There is nothing holding you back.

And you can potentially make it your full time job if you play your cards right. Who said following your passion was stupid?

#5) SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Maybe you don’t want to make content creation your full time gig. That is totally cool.

But guess what? Along the way, you are still gaining the following skills, including:

  • writing

  • video production

  • photography

  • graphic design

  • social media management

  • marketing

  • entrepreneurship

All that to say, you aren’t doing this for nothing. And who knows - perhaps this opens the door for your very next professional opportunity?

All this to say - creating content is hard. There are going to be many times when you feel like giving up, handing in the towel, and taking the easy route out.

But if you remember WHY you are creating, it makes the bigger picture so much clearer.

You can do this - you just need to give yourself a little push.

Now, let’s go watch some TikTok’s…

Creator Exclusive Weekly Interview … with Kait & Martin Gelbspan

An excerpt of our interview with the UGC creators Kait & Martin Gelbspan…

Hey Kait & Martin! What advice do you have for aspiring content creators?

Consistency is key. Treat content creation like a job and show up every day. It's important to create a schedule and stick to it, even when it gets challenging.

And don't forget to stay true to yourself and your why. Authenticity resonates with audiences more than anything else, so don't be afraid to show your personality and share your story.

Embrace the power of live streaming and longer-form content. And above all, have fun with it! Content creation is a creative outlet, so enjoy the process and don't be afraid to experiment and try new things.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to content creation. Find what works best for you and your audience, and don't be afraid to carve out your own path in this ever-evolving industry.

Thanks for reading everyone - I hope this week’s newsletter provided some inspiration to keep achieving your goals!

If you could, please let us know what you enjoyed (or didn’t) with a very quick reply to this email.

We’ll catch you next week - until then, keep creating!
