15 Golden Nuggets of Creator Wisdom

First up we’ve got Dom Vidovic, better known as Tech Wizzdom. He’s a man with over 750K followers, so you can be sure he knows what he’s talking about…

DOM’S ADVICE:

  1. Dive Right In: Don't hesitate when it comes to creating content. Start exploring various social media platforms right away. Waiting isn't the best strategy - the sooner you start, the better.

  2. Find a Mentor or Community: Connect with an experienced mentor or join a group of creators. This can save considerable time and provide a strong foundation for your content creation journey. Learning from those already successful in the field can be invaluable.

  3. Embrace the Future: Understand that content creation is an evergreen skill. Even with the emergence of AI, the unique human touch is irreplaceable. With the advent of augmented reality, virtual reality, and metaverses, new opportunities arise for creators to explore and excel in.

  4. Focus on Personal Development: Work on eliminating limiting beliefs and nurturing a growth mindset. Whether it's fear of public exposure or a backward belief about money, it's vital to address these issues and become open to new ideas, freeing yourself from the restrictions that are holding you back.

  5. Patience and Persistence: Success won't happen overnight - it could take months or years. Regardless of how long it takes, keep persevering. The freedom and satisfaction gained from creating on your own terms are worth every bit of effort you put into it.

Now let’s hear from Kai Vertigoh, one of the most inspiring individuals you’ll ever meet, and the feature of today’s newsletter…

KAI’S ADVICE:

  1. Start Regardless of Skill Level:The most important thing for aspiring creators is to start, regardless of their current skill level. Don't let the fear of not being "good enough" hold you back. The process of creating in itself creates growth and development.

  2. Prioritize Self-Care and Pacing: Avoid pushing yourself too hard to the point of self-sabotage. Pacing oneself is a significant aspect of content creation. Incorporate self-care routines to prevent burnout and sustain your passion for creating.

  3. Embrace Vulnerability and Authenticity: Sharing your highs, lows, and all experiences in between fosters genuine connections with your audience. Being vulnerable and honest makes you more relatable and inspiring, encouraging others to do the same.

  4. Cultivate and Document Your Journey: It's not just about the final product; it's about documenting the journey. Sharing this process reveals the real, human side of creativity, resonating with audiences on a deeper level.

  5. Don't Wait for Perfection - Just Start Creating: Perfection can be a roadblock to content creation. Instead of waiting for the perfect moment or the perfect piece, just start creating. The joy of creation often outweighs the pursuit of perfection.

Last but not least, let’s check in with Nikolai Aksenov, and hear what he would say to anyone trying to get to 1M+ followers…

NIKOLAI’S ADVICE

  1. Don't Overthink, Experiment Instead: As an aspiring content creator, avoid trying to do everything at once. Experiment with different content ideas and see what resonates with your audience. When something works well, explore that avenue even more.

  2. Get to Grip with the Basics: Understanding algorithms, audience retention rates, thumbnail click-through rates, and other nuances of content creation are key to success. Invest time and energy to learn these intricacies.

  3. Find your Niche: Focus on one topic that you're passionate about. By concentrating on your niche, you can establish yourself as an authority in your field, and build a loyal, engaged audience.

  4. Evolve with the Times: The future of content creation is fluid. Keep up with the changing trends, but remember to balance it with your authentic style. As trends lean towards more relaxed, minimalist content, adapt accordingly without trying to overwhelm your audience.

  5. Possess Authenticity and Dedication: Successful content creation relies on authenticity and dedication. Build a brand that resonates with your audience and stay true to your vision. With persistent effort and passion, there are endless possibilities in content creation.

So there you have it! Straight to the point… but incredibly valuable nonetheless.

Content creation isn’t rocket science, but you definitely have to be on your game to grow, adapt, and persevere.

Creator Exclusive Weekly Interview … with Kai Vertigoh

An excerpt of our interview with the full time content creator & producer Kai Vertigoh…

Hey Kai! Tell us a bit about how you got started with your creator brand?

My path to becoming Kai Vertigoh, the creator, wasn’t a straight line. Initially studying film in university as my second choice after mechanical engineering, I stumbled upon the harsh realities of the creative industry post-graduation.

Realizing that traditional career paths wouldn’t guarantee success in the creative world, I started out on a journey of self-discovery and entrepreneurship.

Podcasts like the Tim Ferriss Show opened my eyes to the stories of real-life heroes and the possibilities of forging one’s path. Inspired by the idea of building my own creative operation, I began creating content, starting with dance and film-related videos.

However, it wasn’t until I discovered FPV drone videos inspired by Johnny FPV that my niche began to reveal itself. His work madly inspired me, and that is really where I saw things take off.

Despite the challenges posed by the lack of pre-built FPV drones at the time, I saw it as an opportunity to get in on a new space.

Even though I wasn't good at flying, I was just documenting my entire journey and trying to get better. My first viral growth point didn't happen immediately - it didn’t happen until 2022 actually, a full 3 years after I started; my growth was still pretty gradual until that point.

But when I saw those first viral results, it really showed me what could happen when you are consistent with your process. It took me about 8 years to get to 5,000 followers on my Instagram account, and once that video hit - over the course of 2 months, my followers went to 50,000.

All it takes is one - people keep saying that, but it's absolutely true. The creative journey is very much a compound interest process. The first few years can be very slow, and then all of a sudden, if you just keep creating eventually something is going to click. When it rains, it pours.
